‘Red Eye’ still in custody over murder probe

Police are continuing investigations and are still to lay charges against Compton Greene, 35, called ‘Red Eye’ who surrendered to police on Monday after a wanted bulletin was issued for him.

Greene who was wanted in connection with the murder of Arjune Gobin as well as a series of armed robberies turned himself in at the Whim Police Station in the company of his lawyer, Marcel Crawford.

Arjune was being taken to the scene of a robbery at a house at Wellington Park in a Pajero vehicle around 1:40 am last week Monday when bandits opened fire, hitting him in his head.

He was rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ltd., the first to be shot at by the bandits, was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to a city hospital to seek further treatment.

The bandits carried high powered rifles during the attack and used sledgehammers in their efforts to gain entry into the home belonging to Persaud’s sister.
