Local gov’t union disgusted by attack on Freddie Kissoon

In a press release the Union said it is convinced that the act “was designed to silence Freddie, to crush his indomitable and indefatigable spirit and to put an end to his crusade for a better Guyana.”

The Union also said that the attack was an attack on the right to free speech and freedom of the press and it strikes at the heart of democracy and every freedom-loving person. Further, it said it stands “resolutely with Freddie and defend[s] his right to continue to speak boldly and publicly on the ills of the society. It also urged the Guyana Police Force to move swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
