India to skip Asian Games Twenty20

MUMBAI,  (Reuters) – The Indian cricket board (BCCI)  will not send a team to this year’s Asian Games in China due to  international commitments.

Cricket will make a bow in the 16th edition of the  multi-sports event in Guangzhou with the popular Twenty20 format  selected for the Nov. 12-27 games. “We would not be able to send our team, both men and women,  for the Asian Games in China because of international  commitments,” BCCI’s chief administrative officer Ratnakar  Shetty told reporters yesterday.
India are scheduled to host New Zealand for a test and  one-day series in November.
