A 54-year-old man drowned yesterday while swimming with friends in the West Demerara conservancy.

Dead is Dasrat Musai of 754 Belle West, Canal Number One Polder, West Bank Demerara.

According to reports the man left home to go swimming in the Boerasirie Water Conservancy at the back of Canal Number One around 2.15 pm yesterday with a group of friends.

While swimming, reports said, Musai disappeared. His body was found some two hours later, a senior police officer said.
