Berbice minibus group submits parking lot request to Jagdeo

President Bharrat Jagdeo has asked the minibus authorities to look into a proposal by the Berbice River Bridge Minibus Association for the establishment of a better parking area and a zone for plying the Rosignol to New Amsterdam route.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) release Jagdeo handed down the instruction on Monday after the association submitted the proposal to him at a meeting held at the Office of the President.

President of the Association Pastor Dennis Chesney said he was satisfied with the President’s response to the proposal which the Association is seeking urgently. GINA said the Berbice River Bridge Minibus Association has a membership of 76 and was formed a few days after the Bridge was opened on December 28, 2008.

GINA said Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee, and Transport and Hydraulics Minister Robeson Benn also attended the meeting.
