Husband released after PME proves woman died of poisoning

The husband of a 41-year-old woman who died on Sunday at the New Amsterdam Hospital was released from custody after results of a post-mortem examination proved that she died by poisoning.

Pauline David of Ferry Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice a security guard attached to RK Security Services was admitted to the hospital after she complained of abdominal pains on Friday. She died around 3:30 pm on Sunday.

Police sources told this newspaper yesterday that the woman’s husband was arrested following reports that he was physically abusive.
