Woman found with throat cut at Kitty seawall

The body of an unidentified woman with a gaping throat wound was yesterday morning found on the grass embankment along the Kitty seawall, Rupert Craig Highway.

The woman was of African descent and appeared to have been in her late 30s or early 40s.
The body, found between Celina’s Resort and the Russian Embassy turn, was clad in white short pants, a black leotard-like top, a yellow zip-up jersey and yellow ‘Gladiator’ sandals.

The woman’s throat bore a deep wound with the jugular severed, according to sources. Stabroek News understands that the woman’s black leotard top was around her waist while the yellow jersey was still on and her pants unzipped.

One individual who saw the body, but chose to remain unnamed said whoever committed the act had to be a “bad, bad man.”

“He gotta be a butcher boy,” the individual added.
The woman’s body was removed from the scene just before noon and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital where it was certified before being sent to the Lyken/Newburg Funeral Parlour.

The police said in a press release issued last night that anyone who had information that could lead to the identification of the woman should call 225-6411, 225-2227, 226-7065, 225-6941, 227-1149 or 911 or contact the nearest police station.
