The body of a man of Amerindian descent believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s was found on the Amelia’s Ward Highway yesterday morning. The discovery was made shortly after 3 am. The body was lying in the middle of the road with the head crushed, limbs broken and multiple bruises about the body.
At the time the man was wearing blue ¾ pants, a navy blue jersey and a pair of black and white Nike sneakers. The man is suspected to have been the victim of a hit and run accident.
The body was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex by the Linden police and is currently lying at the mortuary.
