Man fighting for life after scissors stabbing

A 25-year-old man was last night fighting for his life at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was stabbed in the chest with scissors by a man he had an argument with.

Doctors up to press time this morning were working on Paul Rodney who was taken to the hospital by his friends after he was stabbed in West Ruimveldt in the vicinity of the Ebenezer Seventh-day Adventist Church.

According to one of his friends the man and an 18-year-old known to them had an argument followed by a “chucking-up” before he was stabbed.

The friend said the two were arguing about a “old story with some bottle throwing and he tell Paul dat he lucky he ent had a gun or else he woulda be dead. He den chuck Paul and Paul go to hit he back and he pull out deh scissors and stab Paul.”

The young man said Rodney, whose address he did not know, was in a bad way and they had contacted his relatives and were praying that he pulls through.

They reported the matter at the police outpost located in the hospital compound.
