Wendy’s for Guyana

The US fast food chain Wendy’s/Arby’s is set to break into the Caribbean market with Guyana among the countries on its radar.

A report in the Columbus Dispatch of Ohio stated that the company on Wednesday announced a new deal which would see it open 24 Wendy’s across the eastern Caribbean in the next 10 years.  The first is scheduled to open in Trinidad in 2011 with other countries targeted including Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Suriname.

“This agreement will allow us to expand Wendy’s brand presence throughout the Caribbean basin,” the Group president and CEO Roland Smith is reported as saying.

Wendy’s has franchises in Puerto Rico, The Bahamas and in Central America.
