Accused market chain snatcher remanded

Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded to prison a man accused of snatching a gold chain from another, when he on Thursday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charges.

On October 13, near Stabroek Market, Dellon King allegedly stole one gold chain valued $120,000 from Mahindra Rampersaud. King was not required to plead to the indictable charge of larceny from the person.

The magistrate did not ask for any details; however, Prosecutor Lionel Harvey asked the court to remand the accused.

King was then ordered to return to court on November 10 for statements.
