Three representatives from the central bank were at the court

Dear Editor,
I refer to page 13 of the Stabroek News dated Friday, October 29, specifically to an article titled ‘“Just joking” man jailed for attempt to steal guard’s gun.’

In this article, it is stated that “No representative from the bank was present at court.”

Please be informed that three representatives of the Security Division of the Central Bank were at the court, including a Supernumerary Inspector, a Supernumerary Sergeant (the bank’s officer who effected the arrest of Devon Shaw), and a Supernumerary Corporal (the victim of the attempted robbery). Both the inspector and corporal were in uniform, whilst the Sergeant was dressed in civilian clothing.
I would be grateful if you can correct the article published.

Yours faithfully,
Terrence Stuart
Supernumerary Superintendent
Security Division

Editor’s note
When the Devon Shaw matter was called the orderly asked if any representative from the Bank of Guyana was present, and nobody stood up.
