Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday remanded the driver accused of causing the death of Mon Repos gardener Suresh Sawh along the Turkeyen Public Road earlier this week.
Shawn Lall, 30, of 81 Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara, was not required to plead to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving, when it was read to him at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
It is alleged that on December 7, at Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara, being the driver of motor vehicle PJJ 8098 and driving the same motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, Lall caused the death of Sawh. The accused was remanded to prison until next Tuesday, when the matter continues.
Sawh was riding to work when he was hit by Lall, who was reportedly speeding.
