Oldendorff entertains 300 children

Over 300 children were treated to presents and goodies at a fun day organized by the Oldendorff Bauxite Company at the All Saints Ground in New Amsterdam last Sunday.

Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds who was present at the fun day, complimented the company for the work they have been doing.
He mentioned too that he was “impressed” with the grand event that the company sponsored. The Prime Minister also assisted Santa to distribute the presents to the children who said they felt “very special.”

Children lined up as they await their presents from Santa Claus and Prime Minister, Samuel Hinds.

The event was mainly held for staff and their families and included an inter-departmental cricket competition.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Steven Jansen told this newspaper that it was “our way of saying thanks to our workers.”
Apart from the presents, the children frolicked and had a whale of a time on the inflated slide which led to a pool. Jansen said the ice cream van was also brought in after lunch for an additional treat for the children.
