Promoter Mack threatened Church’s Chicken worker -court told

Promoter Colin Mack was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum of $20,000 after he was charged with using abusive and threatening language towards a staff member of Church’s Chicken.

Mack, who appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, is alleged to have made use of threatening language towards Jabella Headly resulting in a breach of the peace, on December 21, at Church’s Chicken. Mack is accused of using abusive language towards Headly on the same day, thus resulting in a breach of the peace.
Mack, of 49 Festival City, pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Prosecutor Stephen Telford told the court that Mack was apparently dissatisfied with the service he received from Headly and became abusive towards her. According to Telford, Mack then began using a series of expletives towards the young woman, after which he threatened to harm her.

Attorney Nigel Hughes, who represented Mack, told the court that Headly had failed in her duty to properly serve his client, who was a customer in the restaurant at time.

Hughes, however, added that Mack was innocent of the charges and that the truth of the matter will be ventilated at the trial. Counsel also said that the accused will not go back to Church’s.

After hearing the case, Mack was placed on $10,000 bail for each charge levelled against him.
The case was transferred to Court Six for January 4.
