Car kills cyclist at Port Mourant

A 42-year-old Corentyne man is now dead following an accident Sunday night on the Port Mourant Public Road, the police have reported.

According to a police release yesterday, investigations revealed that pedal cyclist Sherlock Jagdharry of Rosehall was traversing the road around 18:20 hrs when it is alleged that he attempted to cross the road and was struck down by a motor car.

Jagdharry was pronounced dead on arrival at the Port Mourant Hospital, the release said.

The driver of the motor car is in police custody and is said to be assisting with the investigations.
