$261M contract approved for Black Bush Polder D&I works

Cabinet has approved a $261.2M contract for procurement of civil works on East Black Bush Polder control structures, Cabinet Secretary Dr Roger Luncheon said yesterday.
At his post-Cabinet press briefing, Luncheon also said that in the housing and water sector, contracts in the amounts of $91.3M and $95.5M also received no-objections for the upgrade of roads at Recht-door-zee, in Region Three. Contracts for the construction of roads, structures and the installation of pure water distribution in two lots at Belle West, Region Three—$117.04M for Lot 1 and $100.6M for Lot 2—also received no-objections. 

Dr Luncheon also announced an $81.6M contract for the upgrade of the roads at Onderneeming, also on the West Bank, and contracts for the sums of $112.5M and $78.04M for roads, structures and the instillation of a pure water distribution network will be done at Number 76 Village on the Corentyne. He also announced the award of a $106.1M contract for the upgrade of roads at Block D, Bath, West Coast Berbice.

Meanwhile, in the public works sector, Dr Luncheon said that no objection was given to a contract of $87.8M for the docking and repairs to motor boat MV Malawi and to a $17.9M contract for rehabilitation of the river defence at Fort Island in Region 3.
