Two in court over Line Path murder

Two men were denied their pre-trial liberty when they appeared before Magistrate Krishndat Persaud at the No. 51 Court yesterday to answer to a charge of murder.

Reports are that the men: Sewchand ‘Boyo’ Seewadhan, 44, of Lot 31 ‘A’
Crabwood Creek and Doodnauth Nizamudeen, 32, of Line Path, Skeldon murdered Rakesh ‘Raka’ Randolph between November 6 and 7.

Rakesh Randolph

Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Michael Grant told the court that Randolph, a labourer of Line Path, Skeldon was drinking at a bottom-house rum shop in the village with the defendants when a heated argument ensued.

He said it later escalated into a fight during which the defendants reportedly lashed Randolph about his body.
The men were not required to plead to the indictable offence and were remanded to prison until November 25. The case has been transferred to the Springlands Magistrate’s Court. A post-mortem examination performed on Randolph’s remains proved that he died from shock and hemorrhage due to a fractured skull.
