Accused remanded over throwing lit stove at another woman

The woman accused of throwing a lit kerosene oil stove on a Linden woman was on Tuesday remanded to prison.

Jennifer Warden, aka Rockie, 42, was denied bail and remanded to prison when she appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday despite a bail plea by her attorney, Leslyn Innis-Charles.

In presenting the facts police prosecutor Nauth told the court that on December 2, Warden, with intent to commit murder, inflicted grievous bodily harm on Ianna Noble at 627 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden.

Nauth told the court that the virtual complainant was still a patient at the Linden Hospital Complex and he objected to bail.

Following an argument between the two neighbours, Warden went to her home and took up the lit kerosene oil stove and threw it at Noble as she was passing.

On Monday Noble told this newspaper that she had forgiven Warden but she wanted the law to take its course.

Warden is to return to court on December 15 for a progress report.
