Uchiha battle to top of advanced division in Hockey Summer Camp

Waning in the penultimate position in Monday’s round robin matches, team Uchiha won their way through Tuesday night’s elimination round at the St Stanislaus College Forum to emerge the ultimate winner of the advanced division of the Junior Hockey Summer Camp as the exercise came to a close. With three points only on Monday night, Uchiha comprising Kwesi James, Renee James, Trevon Young and Andrew Stewart finished fifth of the six teams,  but made a total turnaround with victories against last place finishers Razor Blades, Shaq Attack and Fusu in the finals.

Opening with a 1 – 1 tie against Razor Blades, Uchiha went on to score a decisive goal in overtime to move onto the next round while sending Razor Blades to fight for the fifth place position.

Against Monday night’s leader Shaq Attack, Uchiha scored the only goal of the entire match before moving on to the finals where they once again produced another  1 – 0 win, this time against Fusu as they confirmed their standing as the tournament’s leading team.

To make their way to the finals, Fusu, which included  Tremel Gittens, Cove Bowman, Rayon Branford, and Kevin Edwards, opened with a 1 – 0 win against Gigolos and another 1 – 0 victory against Clarks before their subsequent  loss to Uchiha. Clarks following their loss to Fusu, made a comeback to earn third place from their match-up against Shaq Attack.

With the game drawing 0 – 0, it was in overtime that Clarks ascended to a 3 – 2 win against Shaq Attack. The players from Clarks were Akeem Thompson, Taise Seepaul, Quesi Jordd Aroydy Branford. Gigolos went on to win 2 – 0 against Razor Blades in the fifth place play-off.
