Not the writer of the letter about Navin Chandarpal

Dear Editor,

I am the wife of the chauffeur who worked for Mr Chandarpal from 1996 to 2009.

I was shocked and embarrassed when friends called me on Sunday, January 23 last to ask me about a letter in the Guyana Chronicle that they said I had written. They told me that I said in the letter that Mr Navin Chandarpal nearly caused my marriage to break up, because he used to have my husband out late at night while he was going to rum shops.

I just want to tell the whole world that I did not write any letter about Mr Chandarpal. If there is a letter in my name it is a forgery. My husband and I want to say that we have nothing to do with any letter. Some people want to use us in order to make trouble. They should keep us out of their bad games.

Even after my husband stopped working for Mr Chandarpal, I still have a great respect for him and his family. They are good people. They always treated us like people.

Why are some people so wicked that they want to use me to do their dirty work? If they want to tell a lie, they should not to use my name.

Yours faithfully,
Dhanwantie Shirdhan
