Nurse dies after accident

A male nurse died last night at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident at Camp and Lamaha streets.

Nigel Glen, 25,  of Linden was employed at the Georgetown Hospital.

Details are sketchy but this newspaper was told that around 16:30 hrs the motorcycle that Glen was riding collided with a car which was driven by a woman.

Both the motorcycle and the car this newspaper understands were badly damaged. The driver of the car was pinned following the impact and was rescued by public-spirited citizens.
She sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment along with Glen who sustained injuries to the face and neck.

Relatives told Stabroek News today that Glen passed away about an hour after being taken to the hospital. He had sought a transfer to the GPH where he had been working for about a month now. He did not regain consciousness after the accident. He is survived by his mother and two siblings and is to be buried in his hometown Linden later this week.
