Guyana gets its first ever International Trade Centre-trained Supply Chain Manager

Stabroek Business has learnt that Kamene Seepual, who is currently serving as Assistant Director/Warehouse Manager in the Materials Management Unit of the Ministry of Health has become the first Guyanese to be awarded a Certificate in Supply Chain Manage-ment by the prestigious International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva, Switzerland.

In July 2010 the ITC launched its Modular Learning Programme in Supply Chain Manage-ment and Seepaul was one of a number of persons who undertook the first set of examinations in September 2010. EMPRETEC, Guyana has been responsible for coordinating ITC training programmes in Guyana.

Stabroek Business understands that Seepaul manages a team of 20 employees at the ministry and that the duties of her department include ensuring accurate inventory control and planning, managing distribution operations, warehousing, transportation, quality and customer service.

Persaud is a Certified Accounting Technical Graduate and also holds qualifications at the ACCA Level 2.  She has participated in a number of international training courses in Supply Chain Management.
