It is alleged that on Tuesday at Georgetown, Enoch Small, being armed with an offensive weapon, to wit a broken bottle, robbed Bekin Vieira of $248,000 cash.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

In his defence, the accused told the magistrate that “is nah no robbery…we and this man de involve in a fight ova me $1,000 wah I tek out me pocket.”

He explained that he had just returned from Suriname, and had gone to the shop to get some food for the mother of his child, when the Virtual Complainant (VC) “come behind me wid a big cutlass in he waist” and they began to scuffle.

Small was then refused bail and the matter transferred to Court Five for April 18.
