Cousins put on bond after assaulting each other

Two cousins who assaulted each other were yesterday placed on a bond to keep the peace for one year each when they appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

One cousin, who cannot be named for legal reasons,, accepted that on May 12 at Georgetown, she unlawfully assaulted Jasmattie Zaman so as to cause her actual bodily harm. Zaman too accepted that on the same day she unlawfully assaulted the 16-year-old.

Both parties told the court that they did not want to offer evidence against each other, neither did they want further problems.

No details of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court by the prosecution.

Magistrate Lovell placed each defendant on a bond to keep the peace for one year.
