Dr. Surujbally is right. There was no call for me to write without checking carefully. GECOM is trying to do a difficult job at a difficult time and I am grateful that a person of his integrity is the chairman.
Several persons saw it published that the military voted 7 am – 7 pm, but when the polling places for civilians were published, there were no times stated. Cognisant that darkness falls early at this time of the year I was asked for the sunrise and sunset times. Unfortunately, I also communicated a darkness of motive, which Dr. Surujbally eloquently pointed out could end in a ‘black hole’ – certainly not amusing in a season of heightened rhetoric. I thank him for setting me straight.
Next time I’ll use the phone. And when the elections is over we can get around to the matter of the missing correspondence addressed to the Chief Election(s) Officer, which I delivered personally to GECOM and placed where instructed to by the security guards.
