The police are investigating an accident that occurred at about 1030h yesterday which resulted in the death of Rabindranauth Goorsammy, 56 years of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown.
Police said that investigations revealed that Goorsammy was standing on the roadway at Barr Street, Kitty, when he was struck down by the driver of motor van GKK 6698.
Goorsammy sustained injuries about the body and was taken to a private hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
