Electrician accused of receiving stolen property

An electrician was on Friday charged with receiving a quantity of stolen property.
It is alleged that on February 10 at Georgetown, Quincy Braithwaite received an equalizer, a music box and a jack, valued $47,500 in total, knowing same to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained. The articles were the property of Keith Edwards.

Braithwaite, of Lot 115 Middle Road, La Penitence, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution had no objection to the father of two being granted his pre-trial liberty, but requested that bail be set in a substantial sum to ensure he returned to court to stand trial. Braithwaite was later placed on $30,000 bail and ordered to attend Court One on November 16.
