Two beaten in big Enmore robbery

The police say they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 0830h today at the S&K Lumber Yard and General Store, Blossom Scheme, Enmore South, ECD in which two people were beaten and money and jewels stolen.

Police say that investigations revealed that the owner Sohdro Kuldip, 63 years, along with her daughter Kaminne Latchman, 21 years, son-in-law Amar Lall and employee Chandroutie Deonarine, 44 years of Mon Repos, ECD, were in the store when two men armed with firearms entered and held them at gunpoint.

The police say that the perpetrators placed them to lie on the ground and took away a quantity of jewellery, $660,000, and US$5,000 and escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.

During the robbery Latchman and Lall were assaulted about their bodies and were taken for medical treatment.
