The city should revert to its original boundaries

Dear Editor,

Our garbage city stinks. So too do the blame games.

As I can recall, the boundaries of the City of Georgetown were extended in the Burnham era to increase the tax base of the city. The avalanche effect of that move was to burden the city’s administration with an already shrinking capability and a pathetic rate collection, to provide services to a bigger geographic area and a very disenchanted citizenry.

Shouldn’t we revert the city to its initial boundaries, have NDCs administer the affairs of the areas thus declutched, and give the city administration a smaller ‘fiefdom’ to drown in garbage?

Yours faithfully,
