Suspects held, released for murder of beer garden owner

Several suspects have been arrested and released in connection with the murder of Karen Reid, the beer garden owner who was killed on Christmas Eve.

Speaking with Stabroek News recently, the slain woman’s brother Denroy Reid said that the police had related this information to him earlier this month. “The last thing I heard from the police was that they had a few persons but they loose them since there was no grounds to charge them,” the man explained.

He noted that the police investigation is ongoing and though he is not pleased at the slow progress being made, there is not much he can do but wait.

“There’s nothing I can really do but I’m praying that God take his turn and that things will work out,” he added.

On Christmas Eve morning, Karen Reid’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds in a room aback the beer garden where she lived. The room was also found to be ransacked.
