No. 71 march on in NBS play-offs

Half centuries from Nazim Mohamed and Deoprakash Ramdat helped No.71 defeat No.73 Young Warriors  in their final Zone `O’ preliminary match and earn a spot in the last 16 playoffs of the 2011 New Building Society (NBS) second-division, limited overs
competition in Berbice.

Mohamed slammed 84 with five sixes and four fours while Ramdat supported with 72 which included five fours and one six as No.71 reached 236-6 off 35 overs.

In reply, left-arm spinner, Mahendranauth Vincent took 5 for 13 from 4.3 overs to skittle No. 73 Young Warriors out for a paltry 63.

At Letterkenny, Whim National A beat Letterkenny Young Stars by 112 runs. Whim National A 175 in 30 overs with Yogindra Sooknanan 65, Dave Peters 4 for 33 and Parasram Tilkuram 3 for 28. Letterkenny Young Star B 63 in 20 overs with Yadram Jageshwar 4 for 12.

At No.43, No.43 Scorpions beat No.45 by 7 wickets. No.45 98 in 17 overs with Basil Deen 4 for 15 and Balram Samaroo 3 for 20. No.43 Scorpions 9 for 3 in 13 overs with Vernon Peters 27.
