Despite complaints, nothing being done about Happy Acres racers

Dear Editor,

The peace and quiet in Happy Acres is constantly being disturbed by a group of young boys riding motor cycles and ATVs at fast speeds through the streets of our community without helmets. The noise emanating from these motor cycles is very loud and annoying and deters us from resting and students from studying.

Several complaints and reports regarding this nuisance have been made to the police but the young men continue to ride and race recklessly through our streets with no concern for the disturbance to the community and the resulting damage to our roads. Residents in our community have expressed concern that this transgression is being allowed to continue even though one resident dispatched letters to the following:- (1) The Commissioner of Police (2) The Traffic Chief (3) The Divisional Commander “C” Division (4) The Traffic Officer “C” Division (5) The Police Complaints Authority and (6) The Office of Professional Responsibility.

To date however, no action has been taken.

Yours faithfully,
Residents of Happy Acres
