Unlawful assault accused on $20,000 bail

A Plaisance man, accused of unlawful assault, was on Thursday put on $20,000 bail by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It was alleged that on March 31, on Regent Street, Georgetown, Bernard Cox unlawfully assaulted Shafeek Harper, causing him grievous bodily harm.

Cox, who resides at Lot 38 Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, was placed on bail and the case was adjourned until May 21.
