‘Misinformation about chicken pen’

Dear Editor,

In response to the letter with no signatory in your newspaper dated May 19, and titled ‘Chicken pen continues in defiance of court order,’ the sentiments expressed reflect those of one neighbour who is driven by envy. Editor, this man has caused my business to literally close down because he bombarded the authorities with misinformation about my business. Editor, I invite you to make a visit to my home, and you will see the remnants of what used to be chicken pens and what used to be my livelihood and source of income – all closed down for the past three years because of this man.

Editor, in today’s society where persons are trying to make an honest living, there are persons trying pull you down as you progress. My family was plagued with some unfortunate events over the past year, one of which involved my father being shot and killed in the same yard, leaving me to provide for my mother and two brothers.  It is just a shame that a neighbour is trying to pull hardworking people down.

Recently (2 months ago) I restarted rearing approximately 120 birds for domestic use.  As far as the allegation of smell is concerned, I leave that for you to decide upon your visit.

Yours faithfully,
Nigel Ramah
