A shoe vendor was put on $50,000 bail on Friday after denying that he was found with ganja at the Stabroek Market.
Shawn Small, 43, gave his address as Lot 39 Howes Street, Charlestown, when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court accused of possessing 6.75 grammes of cannabis. He pleaded not guilty the charge, which stated that on May 30 at Stabroek Market he had the illegal substance in his possession.Police Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, did not object to bail and the case was later adjourned to June 11.
