The Electra’s Institute cricket team was selected as one of the teams to represent Guyana in the annual Sir Garfield Sobers School Cricket Tournament scheduled to be played in Barbados from July 8th to 25th.
Five cricketers from Linden were selected to be part of the team.
A fundraising event will be held to give support to the cricketers since they will have to provide their own funds for the trip.
In this effort Sherwin Graham will be holding two fundraising events – one will feature a dance at the Christianburg Community Centre on June 15th while the other will be a fashion show on July 1st at the same venue.
The cricketers are also seeking sponsorship from corporate Guyana to make this event a success.
