Mings Products and Services (MPS) recently presented a $360,000 ZOLL Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to the St Joseph Mercy Hospital and this was coordinated by Dr Rohan Jabour, paediatrician, who works at the hospital, a press release stated.
The AED is a vital piece of equipment that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. This shock can stop an irregular rhythm and allows a normal rhythm to resume in cases of sudden
cardiac arrest. Uncorrected, these heart conditions can rapidly lead to irreversible brain damage and death.
The donation of this life-saving device will not only improve services at the hospital’s 24-hour Emergency Room but the entire hospital, the release noted.
