Leguan IMC gets weed slasher

The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development recently presented a weed slasher to the Leguan Interim Management Council (IMC) of Region Three.

The machine, valued over $800,000, will be used to weed government compounds, including schools, hospitals and health centres, a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said. Minister within the ministry, Norman Whittaker handed over the machine to IMC Vice Chairman Albert James in the company of Permanent Secretary Collin Croal, at his Kingston office.

The equipment was given to the IMC after residents had told Whittaker of the need for one when he met with them last year.
