Guyana Jaguars hunt Bermuda prey

The Guyana Jaguars will be hunting a victory today when they tackle regional powerhouse, Bermuda in the final NACRA 2015 RWC 15s regional qualifier match in Bermuda.

After the Jaguars mauled Trinidad and Tobago 20-nil three weeks to book their place in the final, the local ruggers will look to extend their winning streak by roaring to victory against the Bermudans.

The national 15’s rugby team going through a training session yesterday ahead of their final NACRA 2015 RWC 15s regional qualifier match against Bermuda today.

During an exclusive interview yesterday with national rugby captain Ryan Gonsalves via telephone, he noted that the team which winged out on Thursday morning for Bermuda will be ready for their match-up despite the long, tiring plane ride.

Gonsalves  also said that his charges are confident ahead of the game today and stated that the national 15s rugby team will be looking to exact revenge on the Bermudans who defeated Guyana last year at the Providence National Stadium in the finals of the NACRA 15s championships.

Said Gonsalves “The confidence in the camp is very high.Everyone is motivated. We are really looking forward to playing Bermuda and we are happy to be facing them again, to be honest we are looking to avenge our defeat from last year, we are very confident going into this match”.

He continued

“The travelling was very tiresome and hectic, yesterday (Thursday) we got in here after 10 last night (Thursday night)but we got some rest, woke up early and scheduled a training session but in terms of tomorrow’s game we are very confident ,we will be looking to focus on our strengths and cut down on our errors because we know in this game errors can cost you penalties which could result in three points for the opposition but we I can guarantee we will keep the Guyana flag flying high,” Gonsalves assured.
Bermuda booked their place in the final by defeating Bahamas 16-8 two weeks ago in Bahamas.
