Cleaner on three counts of cheque fraud put on $300,000 bail

A 45-year-old cleaner who appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with  three counts of cheque fraud was  placed on $300,000 bail.

Audrey Glasgow of 437 West Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to the charges that were previously discharged.

The charges stated that on March 23, 2010, Glasgow obtained by false pretence, a cheque valued one million dollars, another cheque valued $996,000 obtained by false pretence was cashed on May 6, 2009, and one valued $895,359 was obtained on June 26, 2009.

Glasgow was granted $100,000 bail on each of the three charges.

The matter will be called again on August 10.
