BeMan march and rally set for August 11

The Berbice Male Action Network (BeMan) is advocating that persons “Stand Up, Speak Out and Keep Violence Out of our Society” at its public march and rally set for August 11.

According to a press release from the Roadside Baptist Church Skills Training Centre, the march will proceed from the Skeldon Post Office to the Scottsburg Recreational Ground where brief addresses will be made and educational sessions conducted through the use of the performing arts. BeMan is inviting the public to support this action to curb violence in the society. The group was launched in May and aims to educate men and boys about domestic violence, gender-based youth violence in an attempt to stem these behaviours. The group held its first discussion with 20 teenage boys currently being trained in Information Technology at the Centre.
