The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, whose decomposing remains were found along a trail at Siparuni, Region Eight on Sunday.
Crime Chief Seelall Persaud when contacted told Stabroek News that the only name for the man thus far is “Chris” and no arrest has been made in relation to his death.
He said that on August 9, the man and two friends visited a shop and the friends later left. The man’s friends subsequently returned to the area and were told by the shop owner that he left in the direction of a trail.
Persaud said that the two friends walked along the trail where they made the discovery.
