Grade Six assessment children receive bursaries from Banks DIH

Twenty-four children who were successful at the National Grade Six Assess-ment (NGSA) received Bursary Awards from Banks DIH Limited during a ceremony in their honour on Saturday at Thirst Park, the company said in a press release.

Eleven of the children’s parents are employed by Banks DIH while the 13 others are children of shareholders.

The Bursaries were presented by George McDonald, Assistant Managing Director/ Marketing Director.

Human Resources Director Andrew Carto  who delivered the feature address said that Banks DIH looked forward to hosting the ceremony every year because the company has an interest in looking for future employees.

“When we look at you we recognized the hard work you have put into your studies with the encouragement of your parents in achieving these results and we are looking at individuals who in another few years would have the potential to serve the company,” he was quoted as saying.

Carto noted that Banks DIH has been able to attract the right kind of employees over the years and this has helped to build the company.

He also encouraged the awardees to continue to study hard and utilize information technology to increase their knowledge.

Meanwhile, Communica-tions Manager Troy Peters said the company was extremely proud to present the awards to the successful students.

“We feel a sense of pride to honour this special group of children who have excelled and we share your joy and success,” he added.

The successful students are Reuel Sugdeo, Latonya Darrell, Azel Manoharlall, Sarah Grannum, Bhunaeshwar Totaram, Naomi James, Latifa Waithe, Sohini Narine, Anastacia Samuels, Natalia Manbodh, Ruben Miller, Naareeshta Maraj, Jelena Arjune, Cheri Frank, Delaney Helwig, Jonathan Ferreira, Vevekeanand Ramnarace, Jamila Da Silva, Jordon Denny, Theodore Adams, Esther Duff, Meighan Scott, Ishwardat Boodramlall and Daniel Balli.
