Teen photographer accused of BlackBerry theft

A teenage photographer was yesterday placed on $100,000 bail after he denied stealing a BlackBerry Torch smart-phone.

It is alleged that on July 14, in Georgetown, Ryan Carter, 17, of 573 Diamond Housing Scheme, together with another individual, stole a Blackberry Torch belonging to Linda Davidson and valued at $150,000.

Carter, who appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, pleaded not guilty to the larceny charge.

No evidence of what transpired on the day of the theft was presented to the court.

Although the prosecution had no objection to bail, it requested that it be set at a substantial amount.

After bail was granted, the case was transferred to the Providence Magistrate’s Court for October 12.
