His younger sister, Rohini ‘Devi’ Bipoo tearfully recounted that her brother had just finished his dinner and had picked up his birdcage to take his bird for a walk when tragedy struck.

She learnt from a neighbour that her brother was walking in the corner of the road when he was hit by the motorcycle that had just overtaken a vehicle.

The neighbour alleged that instead of continuing on his journey, Hardial turned around to look at the vehicle and “was not paying attention to my brother”. He apparently lost control and rode into Bipoo.

When persons got to the scene Hardial’s helmet was close to the bike that ended up on a driveway. Rohini said that a “pom-pom” that was tied on her brother’s ponytail was caught and left on the bike.

She said he appeared to have taken his last breath on the road and when he got to the hospital the doctors confirmed that he was dead.
