Date set for GFF-GFA hearing

October 16 is the date set for the hearing to determine whether the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) will get back its voting rights from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF).

Yesterday, Attorney-at-law for the GFA, Roysdale Forde, via telephone told Stabroek Sport that the matter was heard before Chief Justice Ian Chang who gave both sides the October 16 date to present their submissions to the Court.

According to Forde, he is confident that the GFA will be fully ready by the date given by the Chief Justice.

Forde,  asked if he thought the matter was one that could be discharged very easily by the Courts, said that was up to the Chief Justice.

The GFA took the GFF to Court in order to have its voting rights restored.

The GFA’s voting rights was suspended by the GFF after it failed to have elections in a timely manner and it was alleged that a number of financial irregularities with its accounts were found.
