Cook accused of property damage

A cook was yesterday released on self-bail after denying a property damage charge when she appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on September 18, in Georgetown, Claire Figaro, of Lot 362 West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, damaged a concrete structure, valued at $60,000. It was the property of Compton Sealey.

No details were of what transpired on the day of the offence were presented to the court.

The prosecution had no objections to bail and Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry released the accused on self-bail, but placed her on a bond to keep the peace, pending the determination of the matter.

The case will be called again in Court Six on October 1 for reports and fixtures.

The matter was heard at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
