Is this the time that West Indies will rise again?

Dear Editor,

I had to choose between going to Church and viewing the W.I. vs Sri Lanka World T.20 final in Colombo.

I listened to his (God’s) discerning voice and attended Church without regret.

As I got home I was surprised to see that the match was finished and W.I. had won.

“Lord how you do this to me a cricket fanatic I asked.”

In a few seconds I got an E.S.P.N Channel on my cable network which was just about replaying the entire match. Miracle? Na luck.

The after celebration by the W.I. team reflected the joy and hunger for the drought of victories that had eluded them over the years. Cricket is the only game which unites us in a way politicians would envy.

And mediation in the Gayle/W.I. Board matter allowing him to play made the difference or was the main contribution not overlooking Samuels who was awarded the “Player of the Final Match award” and that it was also a team effort by all.

Congrats to the W.I. for a deserved victory and I/We trust as I borrow a quote from the Sunday’s Kaieteur’s Sport page (W.I. Anthem)  “Is this the time that West Indies will rise again like a raging fire”?

We love you Guys-we never divorced you.

Yours faithfully,
V.O.Patrick
