Fox and Gittens stages Father’s Day dominoes tourney at Strikers Sports Club today

Promoting duo Fox and Gittens will today stage a special one-day 18-team Father’s Day dominoes tournament at Strikers Sports Club, Meadowbrook Gardens.

The event is being held to co-incide with the official launching of Athina’s Super Foods of 55E Upper Robb Street Bourda.

Entrepreneur Jerry Jaikarran is no stranger in business having being established in printing in Guyana and New York for over 20 years and said he will be giving the Guyanese population quality American branded items at unbeatable prices with brands such as Bounty, Wesson, Clorox, Lipton, Air Wick and Colgate, a press release from the organizers stated.

Additionally, Jaikarran will be the local agent for Brio Laundry Detergents.

Entrance fee for the tournament is $10,000 and is open to all teams.

Starting time is 2pm with the usual half hour grace period, no team will be accepted after the grace period ends, the release added.

The winning team is set to receive $100,000 with $80,000 and $40,000 going to the second and third placed teams.

Trophies will also be up for grabs compliments of the host Athina’s, Vice President of The Guyana Dominoes Association Michael `Jaggy’ Persaud, F&H Printing Establishment and Patterson and Patterson Associates.

There will be Father’s Day giveaways from Ansa McAl’s Stag and Mackeson and Banks DIH’s XM and R1 Brand while stocks last.

Meanwhile Mix Up ran out winners of a specially arranged match held at The Garage recently.

Organised by Mark `Jumbie’ Wiltshire in honour of Linden `Poison’ Bostwick’s birth anniversary, Mix Up ran out winners with 47 games edging out Fury on 46 and SSS in the cellar with 38.

Matthew Permaul with 11 games was the most outstanding player.

Sittings were played to the maximum of four instead of the usual six games.
